GoHighLevel onboarding: from diagnostic to first catch

GoHighLevel onboarding here is not a course. It is diagnose (20 minutes), Setup week ($250) in the sub-account you own, test submits until a stranger at 9:41pm would get a useful reply, then an optional retainer to operate. You keep GHL, numbers, and workflows if we stop. No retainer starts on the diagnostic. Contact shaz@shazmethod.com or request access.

Three meanings of onboarding — we mean the third

People searching “GoHighLevel onboarding” often mean one of three things: how to learn GHL, how an agency hands off a snapshot, or how a client gets from contract to a live catch. This page is the third. We are not a GHL university. We are not a generic hospitality agency with a white-label login. We onboard a lead system in your account.

The path is public: apply (four steps) → diagnostic (20 minutes) → setup week → first retainer month if you want operate → first report. If that is slower than a course checkout, that is the point. We do not collect a month of $697 to “explore.”

Before you pay: the diagnostic

Twenty minutes. Current funnel, current follow-up, where the clock breaks. You leave with an honest yes/no and a recommended plan (setup + Core or Growth, or setup alone, or a lighter pass if GHL is already mature). No retainer starts on that call. No payment on the apply path.

We will ask how a lead arrives, who replies, what happens at 9:41pm, whether you own a GHL sub-account, and whether a human can take a booked conversation. If the leak is positioning, I will say that. If you need a custom CRM, I will say this is the wrong offer. If you have no offer, same.

Bring: a sample of how leads come in today (form, ad, DM, missed call), who owns them, and whether you already pay GHL. Do not bring a 40-page deck. The clock is the product, not the slides.

Access we need in setup week

GoHighLevel: user access to your sub-account (or agency account). You stay the owner. We are an obvious, removable user. Platform billing stays with GHL.

Numbers and domain: ability to connect or provision SMS in that account, and a sending domain/from-name that matches your brand. Reputation is yours. We configure; we do not hostage the number.

Calendars: real availability from the humans who will show up. Fake hours onboarded as “temporary” become real no-shows.

Sources: which form, which page, which ad account (Growth). Organic profiles if Core will point CTAs at the pipe. We do not need every password on earth on day one. We need the catch path.

Offer truth: what a win is — visit booked, stay deposit, member, job scheduled. If you cannot say it, we cannot name pipeline stages.

What setup week actually does

Diagnose is already done. Architect: stages, forms, calendars, tagging. Automate: core speed-to-lead workflow, baseline email/SMS path, stops on book. Connect: the live form and calendar write the same contact. Handoff notes so operate has a starting line. Delivery format is often a snapshot plus tuning, or in-place edits if you already have structure. Details: CRM setup.

Done is not “assets uploaded.” Done is a test contact with a full thread, a stranger-capable booking link, and you able to see the conversation in GHL. If SMS is not registered yet, we say what is blocked instead of pretending the catch is live.

Setup is $250 once. It is not a month of babysitting. If you want babysitting, that is Core or Growth. If you want to run it yourself after install, that is valid — read agency vs in-house.

  • Apply → 20-minute diagnostic (no payment)
  • You own GHL; we get user access
  • Snapshot or in-place structure: pipeline, calendars, tags, catch workflow
  • Test submit, test book, test stop
  • Handoff notes; optional Core/Growth month one

Your people still have a job

Onboarding is not “GHL will take the sales call.” You keep the conversation when a human should jump in. You keep offer, pricing, fulfillment. You keep GHL subscription, SMS credits, ad spend. We keep snapshots, workflows, tagging, reporting, sequence health on Core+, plus organic cadence and sends, plus ads and extras on Growth. That split is also on why GHL.

If your team will ignore the app notifications, routing will fail after a pretty onboarding. We will set lead routing to phones that buzz. You have to name whose pockets those are.

Month one of operate (if you buy it)

Core: GHL workflows, pipeline, reporting, organic social cadence into the same CRM, email/SMS that is not rotting. Growth: that, plus paid ads into the same pipeline, tracking, CRO, missed-call text-back, reviews, scoring, a strategy note. First report: volume in, speed-to-lead, booked, stalled, punch list. Not a 40-page dump.

If something in setup week was blocked (SMS registration, calendar hours), month one is often finishing the catch for real, not inventing new funnels. We would rather a live five-minute SLA than eight unused pages. Operating monthly is the longer operate note.

Offboarding is boring on purpose

Work happens in your house. If we stop, you keep contacts, workflows, funnels, numbers. There is no “our box.” Setup is $250 because the foundation should survive a breakup. We will not hold the snapshot hostage. We will not require a custom CRM export ritual. That is the point of installing in GHL.

Legal and billing live on terms and privacy. Public pricing is the ladder. Questions during onboarding go to shaz@shazmethod.com — one inbox, not a maze of department emails. If you get stuck on GHL billing itself, that ticket is with HighLevel, not with us. We will still tell you which switch in the sub-account you are looking for.

A setup-week checklist you can hold us to

Day one: user access in your GHL, confirm you are the account owner, list live sources (form URLs, ad accounts if Growth, phone numbers). We write the leak map from the diagnostic so we are not discovering the offer on Friday.

Day two–three: pipeline named for the close, tags for source/offer, calendar hours from real humans, catch workflow, baseline email/SMS path, stop on book. We do not spend this time theming a funnel to look like a Dribbble shot. Pretty pages that do not write a contact are the leak.

Day four: test submit as a stranger, test book, test unsubscribe, test “already booked.” Conversation tab must show the thread. Owner phone must buzz. If SMS registration is pending, we document the catch as email-only and the remaining work — we do not call a blocked number “live.”

Day five: handoff notes, what Core would watch first, what you still own (conversations, offer, GHL bill). If you are not buying a retainer, you still get the notes. Setup is the foundation. It should survive a breakup. If something needs your IT person (domain DNS, Meta Business access on Growth), it is on the punch list instead of hidden in a “we’ll circle back.”

When SMS, ads, or calendars are blocked

SMS: carrier registration and a number in that sub-account. This is often the long pole. Email can carry the catch for a few days; it is not the same as a text at 9:41pm. We will not pretend it is. You own the registration. We configure the workflow to use the number once it exists.

Calendar: if nobody will give hours, we cannot invent availability. The diagnostic already asked whether a human can take a booked conversation. If the answer was yes and the hours never arrive, setup stalls on purpose. Fake 24/7 availability is how you train no-shows.

Ads (Growth only): pixels and Conversion API wait until the thank-you actually writes a tagged contact. We will not “just turn ads on” into a thank-you leak. That is connect after automate, not instead of it. If month one of Growth is finishing tracking, that is operate, not failure.

What onboarding is not

It is not a 12-week GHL certification. It is not white-label hotel software. It is not “we post on Instagram while your forms stay broken.” Organic on Core is real, and it still points at the pipe. It is not a custom database project. If you asked for onboarding and meant “teach my intern every GHL menu,” we can point at HighLevel’s own docs — that is not the $250 product. The $250 product is the catch, installed.

FAQ

How long is GoHighLevel onboarding with Shaz Method?

Diagnostic is 20 minutes. Setup is a focused install week, not an open-ended build. Done means a test contact can travel the catch. Core/Growth month one is operate, optional.

Do I need GoHighLevel before the diagnostic?

Willingness to get an account is enough to talk. You must own the sub-account before we install. We do not onboard into a black-box login we keep.

What do you need from my team?

True calendar hours, who takes the booked conversation, offer definition, and access to GHL. Not a 40-page brand book on day one.

Is onboarding the same as the $250 setup?

Setup is the paid install. Onboarding is the path around it: diagnostic, access, test submits, handoff. Retainers are separate and optional.

What if we already have GHL and just need onboarding help?

The diagnostic will say full $250, a lighter pass, or “you need operate more than install.” We do not rebuild for sport.

A 20-minute call. I will walk through your current funnel and follow-up — and whether GoHighLevel is already in the house — and tell you honestly whether the Shaz Method is the right fit. We install in GHL. We do not sell a custom CRM.
